Alternate Universe(AU) Character Application

Welcome to the application for an Alternate Universe (AU) Characters! Before you get started on your application, please read the following requirements before you submit you application.

APPLICATIONS ARE REVIEWED EVERY FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
Please be patient.
For a character to be classified as being an “AU”, something is changed from the original line in the fandom that changes the character into someone new. In order for it to be accepted into the game, the AU version of the character must be different enough from the original to almost be classified as a different person, yet the main, defining traits of said character are still evident. They must be different, but from an outsider looking in, they can still tell they’re still the same character.
Because of this, this application is separate from both the OC and original fandom applications. In order to prevent completely OOC characters, as well as fandom OC’s (which are not allowed in the game), this application is expected to be more drawn out and elaborate to prove to the moderators that you have a firm grasp on the alternate universe the character dwells in.
We expect applications for Alternate Universe characters to be in-depth and descriptive. For something major to happen to drastically change, there is going to be a lot of explaining on your part to convince others of the changes. You must show that you have a very good understanding of your character. What we look for is a certain amount of consistency with your character-- not a character that seems to change their personality to conform to certain situations. Remember that the description of your character will affect their interactions with other characters, as well as their relationships and their development in the game.

If the following requirements are not met, or the application doesn’t come close to qualifying what the moderators are looking for, your application may be denied.

AU Application Requirements:
1. The limit of AUs per player is two (2). You may only apply for your second AU after your first has been in the game for three (3) months or more.

2. We do not accept any canon-based OCs. That is, any OC with a background centered in an already existing canon (ie. Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, etc.). Too drastic of changes to the original character where the character can’t be classified as the same, will be denied.

3. While some changes might involve other potential characters in game, for example “AU chose person b instead of person a,” anything that gets close to godmodding will be dealt with. Under no circumstances is that allowed, and depending on the severity of the actions, it may cause you to lose your character.

4. Please use the following template when submitting you application. Note that we do require a minimum word count for certain sections, and we will be checking this. For the Personality section, we require at least 500 words. For the AU Background section, we require at least 600 words. Your Third Person Writing Sample must have at least 250 words. The reason we want such a high word count is because we want details. Details will help us get to know your character, and the more-in depth you go, the better!

Personality: [Describe your character's personality, any quirks they have, likes and dislikes, how they get along with others, any positive and negative personality traits, talents and flaws, etc. Please be as descriptive as possible. Also, describe any powers or abilities they might have as well, in detail. Remember, any powers/abilities will be watered-down quite a bit if they have any. Make sure to put a great emphasis on the similarities and differences between your AU version of a character, and the canon version. We want to know that you have a strong understanding of them. This section must be at least 500 words.]

Canon Background: [This may be a link to resources if you desire. Basically, we want to know what happened during this character’s life, according to canon.

AU Background: [This is your time to explain in detail how your character’s background varies from the original. Don’t gloss over anything, we want details so we can accurately judge if the character is indeed an AU and not an Fandom OC, and to make sure the character still is the same character, just with different attributes. This section must be at least 600 words.

Why do you want to app your character into Aliunde? [Here is where you can tell us why you would like to bring this character into the game. Is there an idea you have with this character to advance the plot? Do they bring a certain character dynamic into the game? Applying for an OC just to "ship" them with another character is a big no-no.]

Writing Samples
